Lisa's work is inspired by humanitys age-old relationship with time and community-involved fiber processes, through which she conveys issues of a contemporary nature. She expresses her insight of our current physical and psychological human condition by the materials used, the methods employed and the concepts referenced. Working primarily with natural dyes, protein fibers, the felting process, sculptural beadwork and embellishment, she challenges herself to push fiber into a third dimension. Her recent work focuses on a variety of womens issues, mental defense, and security. |
