BRUCE BAKER WORKSHOP: See flyer sent by Tim Hintz. If you didn't get one emailed to you contact Tim at freshchairs@dtccom.net. Price is $120 before 1/31/12. Need as many people to sign up before 1/21/12 as possible because if enough people don’t sign up then we won’t have the workshop. Given that it was voted that the chapter would buy 3 registrations for $300. Each TACA chapter is also buying 3 registrations. Our chapter is offering the following incentive to encourage early registration: Anyone who buys a ticket in the next 2 weeks is eligible for a door prize of one year TACA membership at no cost. Make checks payable to Highland Rim TACA and send to Noreen Grisolano, Send it to: Noreen Grisolano 2856 Austin Bottom Road, Baxter, TN 38544l Must be postmarked by 12/24/11 to be eligible. Tim Hintz and Noreen to facilitate the selection of door prize recipient.

BIENNIAL TACA SHOW: At the TN State Museum 9/20/12 – 10/31/12. More info to follow.
CHAPTER BOOTH: We plan to do it for the spring show so interested people need to contact Rob Harvey.
ART A LA CARTE: We will not renew the agreement with the gallery due to lack of interest in participating.
FUND RAISING: Please brain storm fund raising events possible for the chapter to do and bring your ideas to the next meeting or email them to Tim Hintz.
BOARD MEETING: Kim Winkle reported that TACA is on an upswing. We have a new dynamic and invested director. TACA showed a $13.000 profit last quarter. Lay out of the 2 fairs will remain the same since they seem to work well. Painting will continue to be in the shows and these booths are in addition to the craft booths. Three pairs of master/apprentice have been approved. TACA considering different community outreach programs. Liz Zinke has replaced Katie as Marketing director. She can be reached at LZinke@tennesseecraft.org. Kin Winkle will be leaving her position since her term is up.
FALL CREEK FALLS DISPLAY: Chery Cratty has investigated our chapter having a permanent installation at the visitors/convention center. This would not be for sales but is excellent exposure for artists as they have many visitors to the center. Work would be displayed for 3 months. It was decided to set aside $300 while we investigate the cost of buying pedestals with locking acrylic tops for display there. Chery Cratty and Susan DeMay to follow up.
FACCT: It was decided to give $200 to FACT for community outreach again this year. Noreen will apply for a grant now that we have made that commitment.
FALL FUN FEST: Mike Whiteman has been organizing the arts/crafts portion for our chapter for about 10 years and he is asking for some people to assist him and learn the process. This means meeting with Mike and learning the routine, possibly attending some City Scape meetings and then setting up and organizing the event. Please contact Mike at woodmiketn@yahoo.com . The event is Fri and Sat the first weekend after Labor Day. There are 22 booths available for arts/crafts. Applications can be found on the HR web site. Price for TACA members is $75 and $85 for nonmembers including electricity. This is a major fund raiser for our chapter. We give City Scape who organizes the whole event $500 so we get our location every year.
